i heard the word but never registered its meaning
my mind can't make sense of the signals it's receiving
i do recall her but i'm hazy on the details
when memories plague me i just kill 'em on the weekends
shit makes less sense as you get further from the feelings
poets don't improve they just get worse with the seasons
the same old rhyme scheme with a slightly different meter
i sold my birthright to some bastard in a t-shirt
nothing that is was ever meant to be
nothing that is was ever meant to be
sweet jesus damn me how i'd become so unfeeling?
when you choose to leave me you don't need to list your reasons
the greatest of my demons truly they are legion
i'm joking at the gallows just to keep from weeping
i guess you fell in love with someone else
you met me when i still believed in hell
nothing that is was ever meant to be
nothing that is was ever meant to be

Takes me back to my high school classroom during the days of binging Inio Asano's old manga scanlations before anything was licensed. At that time, I was discovering many kinds of Asian shoegaze, but I've never heard anything like this. Makes me think of Pasteboard, Supecar, and Midnight Pingpong a bit, and it's funny bc the first two I listen have blue album covers too. Lu
