10 songs of your choosing, played by kenny, directly to tape. each tape is hand-stamped with the monkey christ and a number out of 25, and includes an insert printed on hanji paper (with pressed leaves and flowers) with a hand-printed tracklist.

botched restorations is the first in a series of projects exploring new versions of existing little kid songs.

you can order a customized cassette with ten songs of your choosing. kenny will play those ten songs and record them straight to your tape.

after ordering, you'll receive a google form via email where you can submit your song selections and add any other notes about your preferences for the cassette.

i figured this could be a nice option for far-away people who have never had a chance to see us play live, or folks who prefer a shittier recording style than we've been delivering lately.

each tape is hand-stamped, numbered out of 25, and includes a simple insert printed on beautiful hanji paper, with the tracklist customized by hand for each unique selection of songs.

when you order the tape, you'll also receive an immediate download of this live version of our song "bastard," played by kenny and megan at a house show in montreal in february 2019. (note: this recording won't be on your tape - just needed something to upload to bandcamp, but it does serve as an approximation of the sound and performance quality you will be receiving)

tapes will ship sporadically as they are recorded, but the plan is to have all 25 shipped by october 1st at the very latest.

p.s. - please note that these will be four-track recordings and the sound quality will not be great (at least not in any traditional sense). there may be some mistakes, especially if you pick some older songs that i haven't played lately - the hope is that these mistakes will be part of the charm. likewise, the cassettes themselves are made by hand using some temperamental materials, and may have some small "flaws" - again, the hope is that this will be part of the charm <3

p.p.s. - i know $25 is a lot for a tape, but each one will require at least an hour of labour, plus materials, etc. - and the profits will go towards our next release, which we are hoping to release on vinyl for the first time. if the cost is a barrier for you right now but you feel like you really need one of these, send me an email at littlekidmusic@gmail.com and we can work something out.
